Hello everyone!

Our Year classrooms have combined to study and create their own piece of fossilised art found in nature. Many fossils were created and decorated with natural and manufactured materials. We then wrote a little story about each fossil. We wrote about turtles trapped in the mud, discovered popular toys left in the playground and even discovered one of the very first ‘selfies’ of a young girl. We’re looking forward to our next challenge of creating a sculpture from recycled materials later this week.

3A opened a fraction pizza shop called ‘Pizzaz Pizza. Students got a chance to create their own unique fraction pizza to learn about fractions and equivalent fractions. Did you know that 4/8 equals ½? I wonder if you know the equivalent fraction for 8/8?  We do!  Written by Lara.

Most days before 3B dives into a Maths lesson we usually do a warm up. We do what is called ‘Three Minute Speed Test’. This warm up is get their brains ticking over ready for the lesson. The best thing is it is against themselves and teaching students the focus needed to better results in that time frame. Students really look forward to these warm ups!
