Vegetable Gardens.

The new vegetable gardens are operational and they look great. Beans, tomatoes, beetroot, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower are all growing very well thanks to the students of the gardening club especially Ziyi Wang and the youngsters from Prep to year 2. Further, the students have started fertilising the plants with worm wee from our worm gardens, maybe that’s why the plants are looking so good.

Containers for Change.

The students will be sorting the contains every Wednesday. We would greatly appreciate your unwanted containers.

November we will also be able to add wine and spirit bottles so hang onto your containers so our year 5 students can sort and raise a little extra cash for their Legacy project.

Feed the Worms.

Big news! This week the students help be start a brand-new worm farm. We now have 9 worm farms operating. All the taps have been repaired so our organic recycling process can be completed. When we replant our vegetable gardens next term we will have a layer of nutrient rich soil to top dress the garden with. Term three promises to be a very exciting time for the Enoggera Earthworms Environmental Club.

Enoggera Earthworm Environmental Excellence Award.

The Enoggera Earthworms Environmental Excellence Award will be awarded to a student or class demonstrating amazing activities at the school. This fortnight that award was presented to Ziyi Wang 5/6c for his dedication to all aspects of the Environmental Club. Ziyi is a leader who not only engages with the duties enthusiastically but he actively supports the younger students so they are learning about keeping our Earth healthy for the next generation.
