Sports News
Interschool Sport
Our year 5 & 6 Students have completed their Friday Gala Sports for the term. It was great to see the happy faces of the returning teams, some very positive, some a little disappointed. Whatever the result, getting in, playing the game, and enjoying the time with your friends is the key. Well done to all those who played.
An extra big thanks to the teachers who supported the activities and referee the matches. Mrs Hall, Ms Kerr, Mr Emes and Mr Taylour. It’s a huge ask and I really appreciate your efforts in supporting myself and the students at the event. Thank-you!
Year 3 & 4 Sport
Our games afternoons have also finished up for the term. Well done to all the grade 3 and 4 students for having a go at all the activities on very hot afternoons. It was so pleasing to see the great teamwork on display, working together and supporting each other in the range of activities. It puts you in a good position for attending the off-campus sporting activities in the future.
Again, an extra big thanks to the teachers for making the activities interactive and engaging. Thanks to Mrs Arthur, Mrs Harris, Mrs Moser, Mr Harris and Miss Cartwright (pre-service teacher). I enjoyed working with you all. Thank-you!
Swimming
Swimming continues through the term. With storm season approaching and some unsettled weather, a reminder that students should always bring swimming gear to school. On the day, I will look at the relevant information and decide the safety of swimming, but having your equipment to swim is really important.
If your child isn’t able to swim, I do appreciate a notification email to inform your child is unable to participate in swimming.
We are still looking for help from parents in all of our Prep to year 2 space with some classes in more urgent need of help than others especially:
- 2A – 11:40am to 12:40pm Thursday
- 1B – 2 – 3pm Thursday
If you are able to help either for one lesson or maybe each week please email Mr Andrew Woodrick at aawoo0@eq.edu.au
Adult support in these age groups makes a huge difference to our programs.
