Absences
As we dive into the new year, I wanted to take a moment to address an important aspect of our community, our defence families. With the year well underway, some of our defence parents may begin to experience absences due to field or deployments. These absences can have a significant impact on both home and school life for our defence kids.
If your family is currently experiencing or will soon face parental absences, please know that I, as your Defence School Mentor, am here to offer support. It is crucial that you reach out to me so that I can ensure we are prepared to provide assistance pre, during, and post-absence. Additionally, informing your child’s teacher about the situation will enable them to offer extra support if needed.
Open Communication is the key, and your input is invaluable in helping us support your children effectively during these challenging times.

Events in our community
In other news, mark your calendars for the upcoming Run Army event on April 21st! There’s currently an early bird special available until February 28th, with proceeds supporting Legacy Australia. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a meaningful cause while staying active as a community.
