Library News

It has been fantastic to see so many of the students remembering their library bags on their library borrowing days. If for some reason students forget on their allocated days, the library is open every first break and students are more than welcome to return and borrow books then.

Our Prep students started coming in to the library at lunchtimes a couple of weeks ago. I would like to say a huge thank you to some of Year 5 girls who gave up their lunchtimes to help show them around and arranged to do activities with them. You have helped make the transition simple and enjoyable.

At times over the year families and staff very generously donated resources to our library. We would like to thank The Truselle, Flegler, Rourke, King, Preston, Bodrog, Hunt, Muston and Fitzpatrick families for your generous donations at the end of last year and this year.

We hope everyone had a chance to share their love of books on LIBRARY LOVERS DAY. It happened to coincide with Valentine’s Day which was nice. So there was a lot of love going around in the ESS Library.

The second Issue of Scholastic Book Club will be going out to students shortly. To place orders follow the instructions on the order form attached to the brochure. Preferable payment option is online (details on Book Club form). If paying by cash, payments can be made to the office on either Tuesday or Thursday mornings. Please ensure correct money as we do not hold cash on the premises (cannot give change). There are some great offers available including free books with some purchases and the school also earns free books and resources to assist in the library and classrooms.

Coming up on the 15th – 21st March is Harmony Week where the message is ‘EVERYONE BELONGS’. The idea of Harmony Week is to promote diversity and acceptance of other cultures. ... Harmony Week aims to start a conversation about heritage, culture and community. We will have a display in the library with some activities for students at lunchtime.
