Swimming
Swimming continues through the term. With storm season upon us and some unsettled weather, on the day I will look at the relevant information and decide the safety of swimming. Students should always bring their swimming gear to school as having your equipment to swim is really important.
If your child isn’t able to swim, I do appreciate a notification email to inform me that your child is unable to participate in swimming.
Just a friendly reminder that parents are not allowed at any time in student change rooms due to student privacy and student protection rules and regulations.
Parent help is still very welcome in Prep to Year 2. If you are able to help either for one lesson or maybe each week please email Mr Andrew Woodrick at aawoo0@eq.edu.au . Adult support in these age groups makes a huge difference to our programs.
Swimming Carnivals
The Enoggera Swimming Carnivals will be the last sporting events for 2024. They are scheduled for Week 9 – Monday 25th November for Years 3 to 6 and Tuesday 26th November for Prep to Year 2.
The Senior Carnival will have a combination of competitive and non-competitive races. Students will be able to nominate for their events. The Junior Carnival will be all about participation and we hope to see students the majority of students swimming across the pool. Some students in Years 1 and 2 will be given an opportunity to swim a length of the pool, however this will be only be students that can prove their ability in the swimming lessons.
I understand there are students in the younger grades who are interested in swimming the entire pool, unfortunately we cannot do this safely for everyone. If you are interested in your students swimming the length of the pool, I would encourage you to join up with the Enoggera Swim School and swim on selected Friday nights.
