Expression of Interest – Casual Cleaner (20hrs/week)

Commencement: 20th of January 2025 for Semester One with the possibility of permanency following.
20 hours per week (plus ADO)

The successful applicant must be able to work split shifts between 5:30am–9am / 2.30-6pm, 4 days per week.
Enoggera State School is looking for highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic cleaners. As a cleaner, you will contribute to providing efficient and effective operation and environment of the site by providing a high level of cleaning support. You will also ensure all duties prescribed for the position are completed to an acceptable standard as determined by your supervisor in accordance with the approved school cleaning program.

Responsibilities include:

• Cleaning of windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors and cupboards.
• Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment along with a host of other responsibilities pertinent to the role.
• Security – arming and disarming school security systems as required.
• Locking and unlocking of buildings.

The position of cleaner reports directly to the school Business Manager. The successful applicants will be engaged in split shifts. The start and finish times will vary, however, will be between 5:30am and 6pm. If the successful applicant(s) are engaged in split shift arrangement, a split shift allowance will be paid each day a split shift is worked.

What we are looking for:

• Education QLD cleaning experience is preferred but not essential for this position.
• Applicant must hold a current paid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or be prepared to apply for one.
• Applicant must be at fully vaccinated against COVID 19 and provide evidence.
• Applicant must be available to work between 5:30am-6pm and available on short notice.
• A team player with the ability to perform under direction, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work demands and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated knowledge, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge, of departmental cleaning policies, practices and procedures used in schools.
• A criminal history check will be initiated on the successful applicant.
