Welcome back to another year of our incredible Arts program. We are  so excited for the ESS students and for what is install for them in 2025.

Firstly, on behalf of the performing arts teachers, thank you to all of the students, families and staff for supporting the arts programs as they continue to grow again in 2025.

What's new in the Arts for 2025? This year we have our new Vocal and Dance Performance Teams as well a brand new Dance Ensemble group for our Grade 1-2 students. Continue reading for more info!

Performance Teams

Our Vocal and Dance Performance teams are brand new in 2025. These teams are for students in Grade 4 - 6 who are wishing to challenge and push themselves in Dance and/or Vocal and who would also like further opportunities to perform. The teams will perform at various eisteddfods, competitions and community events throughout the year, therefore their commitment and dedication to these teams are crucial.

Students will need to audition for the teams which is happening in Week 2. Please see the below times:

Auditions for Performance Team

Vocal - Wednesday morning EPAC 7:50 arrival 8:00am start

Dance - Thursday morning EPAC 7:50 arrival 8:00am start

Please note: students can audition and be a part of both teams. Students who are successful in Performance Team cannot participate in the other Dance Ensembles or Choirs. Students who are unsuccessful will have the opportunity to sign up for school based choir and/or sign up/audition for the school based Dance Ensembles.

An email has been sent home to our Grade 4 -6 students however if you would like some more information please contact Miss Dunstan or Mrs Rees.

Dance Ensembles

Our Dance Ensembles are enrichment programs that not only compliments but extends students beyond what they are learning in their Dance Curriculum lessons. Students learn stylised dance technique and routines in preparation for school based performances at the Winter Soiree and Arts on Stage.

To belong in a Dance Ensemble students will need to audition. Auditions will be held in Week 3 at the following times:

Auditions for Dance Ensembles

Red Dance (Grade 4 - 6) - Monday 8am (Week 3)

Green Dance (Grade 3 - 4) - Wednesday second break (Week 3)

Purple Dance (Grade 1 - 2) - Friday first break (Week 3)

Boys Crew (Grade 3 - 6) - Monday first break (Week 3)

Our ensemble groups are based on not only year level but will be based on ability and experience. Students will sign up and audition and then will be invited into the appropriate group according to their skill level and experience. Please note numbers in each dance group is capped due to safety.

For our Grade 1 - 2 students, if you believe your child is suited for this please email Miss Dunstan or sign up on the EPAC door. There is no expectation that all students will be involved as we understand not every student will be comfortable in front of an audience on a stage, however if you child is comfortable and commited to attending weekly rehearsals this is a perfect program for them.

If you would like some more information please contact Miss Dunstan.

Choir

This year we will be offering all students the opportunity to join the Senior Choir (4-6) and Junior Choir (1-3) as in previous years. This ensemble experience gives students an opportunity to learn about self-discipline, social skills, teamwork, commitment, performing skills, singing in unison and in harmony as well as discovering how to use their voices to communicate stories through song. Students will have the opportunity to perform at the Winter Soiree, Arts on Stage and other events. For more information and to sign up, come down to EPAC and sign up and collect a letter from Mrs Rees at our first rehearsal.
