Pillar Practice

As we did not have an assembly this week to launch a new Pillar Practice, this week we continued to focus on good manners and greetings.

In particular we are focussing on:

  • Please and thank-you
  • May I
  • Excuse Me

To positively reinforce this Pillar Practice, we have Special Relationship Gotchas that teachers will be handing out across the school and drawn at assembly in Week 9.

You can support us by being aware of the current Pillar Practice and discussing the expectations with your children at home.

Harmony Day

Enoggera State School will be celebrating Harmony Day on Friday March 21st.  Harmony Day is a celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds.  It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.  Students are invited to wear either clothing or an accessory representing a different culture. There is no cost associated with this dress up day.

Easter Bonnet Parade

Our annual Easter Bonnet Parade will be held for Preps and Year 1s on the multipurpose court on Friday 4th April from 9am.  Students will make their easter bonnets in class with their teachers in preparation for the event.  Parents and caregivers are welcome to come along to watch this exciting event and join in with some Easter dances with their children at the end.

For the prep students who have swimming lessons on Friday morning at 9am, Mr Woodrick will move your lesson to later in the day so you don’t miss out on getting in the pool one last time.

We look forward to sharing this special event with you!

Youth Leadership Academy

On Monday 17th March, our Year 6 Student Leaders attended the Youth Leadership Academy Primary Dream and Lead Conference with Mrs Burrows as part of their student leader training. Dream and Lead is a one-day, highly engaging event designed to support primary school students in discovering their leadership potential, whilst providing them with strong foundations to succeed. Throughout the day, captains participated in purposeful activities developing their problem-solving skills, and increasing confidence and independence.  Facilitated by internationally trained young leaders, students recognised the impact they can create as a young person.  It was a great day for everyone!

‘Starlab’ Incursion

Yesterday, the Year 3 classes attended the Starlab Incursion in the EPAC.  ‘Starlab’ Education provides inspiring astronomy and earth science programs throughout Queensland.  Presenters brought the ‘Cosmodome’ Science Theatre & Planetarium to Enoggera to provide the curriculum-based, interactive, engaging program to our students.
