QLearn

There were only a few visits to QLearn outside of school hours last week. It is hoped that over the holidays many students access the resources and continue to practice logging-on to the website. Year One parents are reminded they may have missed an email (check junk mail) explaining how to assist their child/ren with accessing QLearn and helping to locate the correct keys.  Currently we have a group of Year One students who can now easily access QLearn and some who continue to require a great deal of assistance with this skill. Your assistance at home will be much appreciated.

Premier’s Coding Challenge

Students interested in the Premier’s Coding Challenge are asked to collect their parent/guardian expression of interest form from Mr Harris. The permission slip must be completed and signed then returned to the school Office or Mr Harris. (Not to the classroom teacher) The Challenge this year is around the 17 United Nations Sustainability Goals, which is already leading some Year 4-6 students to independently research topics like poverty, sustainability, oceanic garbage patches and improved education (just to name a few).

Go to QLearn to view Premier’s Coding Challenge project ideas and information. Students are reminded that they have special Computer Lab passes so they may develop their computer applications either before school or any lunchbreak. We have 6 months to go, but it takes a lot of work to perfect the coding and enter the competition.

Mathletics

First term 2025 Mathletics statistics are extremely positive with an amazing report that more than 50% of the Mathletics time is after school and weekends. Some parents/guardians may not be aware that this site is a really excellent resource that the school has purchased for us. Students are encouraged to participate whenever they can, as it helps with maths skills development,  confidence and how to independently learn new concepts.
