Happy Easter

It has been a very busy first term – with some unexpected days off due to the arrival of Cyclone Alfred!  I have thoroughly enjoyed watching our preppies grow in their school confidence, and our new school captains step up into their leadership roles. It was disappointing that the Cross Country was cancelled due to the very wet grounds, but we will enjoy the event on Wednesday 23rd April.

I wish all the students and families an enjoyable and relaxing Easter Holiday and I look forward to seeing everyone in Term Two.

Student Council

Mrs Robinson and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the new class representatives of the Student Council throughout Term One.  It has been wonderful to see the purchasing of many legacy items from last year’s fundraising including the class sunscreen, the basketball backboards, and the ping pong table.  With two outdoor ping pong tables available from next term, we will reintroduce our roster for play from Years 3 -6.  Next term, the Student Council has decided upon the following fundraising activities.  Our students aim to raise money for charities as well as our school.

Kid’s Cancer Project – Dress Like a Pirate Day – Friday 9th May

Student Council Crazy Socks and Sunnies Day – Friday 13th June

Student Council Meal Deal – Monday 16th June

Indigenous Literacy Program Book Swap – Thursday 26th June

Wellbeing Initiative - Gratitude Stones – Week 7 (2nd – 6th June)

Easter Bonnet Parade

Our annual Easter Bonnet Parade will be held on Friday 4th April on the multipurpose court under the new roof!

This event is for Prep and Year One.  Students will be walked down to the court after marking the roll in the morning with their bonnets on. Bonnets will be made by the students in their classes in preparation for this event.

Parents are welcome to attend and the audience area will be around the edges of the tennis court on the South Pine Road end.  Each class will walk the parade circuit twice.  There will then be an opportunity for parents to dance with the students for two songs after the parade.  We look forward to seeing the students in the easter bonnets this year.

Prep Open Morning

Parents of Prep 2026 and all new prospective families are invited to meet with the Leadership Team to learn about our curriculum programs and extra-curricular offerings across the school, and enjoy a tour of our beautiful school.  This information session is aimed at parents with a 90-minute presentation in the Performing Arts Centre before a tour of the grounds.

ANZAC Day 2025

Parents and caregivers are invited to join us for our school ANZAC Day service to be held on the front lawn of the school from 9am on Thursday 24th April. There will be limited seating for parents on the lawn, but there is plenty of standing room near the carpark and on the footpath.

We will also be marching at the local ANZAC Day march from Sid Loder Park.  We meet at the park at 5:30am and the march begins at 6:00am. The School Captains then lay a wreath on behalf of the school during the ceremony. If you would like to bring your children along to march, please meet us at the park.  You will see our school banner to locate where we are meeting.  Unfortunately, parents are unable to march with the school group – only students can march with staff. This is to manage the length of the groups marching.
