What a strange end to the term it has been!
I hope everyone has been enjoying the early start to the holidays. Teachers have been working hard this week to develop curriculum delivery for Term 2, with solutions for any possible scenarios that may be in place.
Obviously more information will be sent at the start of next term, however here is a taste of the approaches we are developing.
- Teachers are preparing weekly programs of work to be placed on Term 2 EdStudios for students to access. Many students have experience with these Studios already so are familiar with this platform.
- We are also working to develop e-learning (or Blackboard) sessions, which can be delivered in the event that school closures occur. These are interactive on-line sessions that students will be invited to join. They will provide an opportunity not only for learning, but also to interact, both with staff and each other.
- In the event of glitches in accessing on-line platforms of EdStudio or e-learning, we have a back-up plan to email weekly programs to students if required.
- For those without access to technology, hard copy materials will be available on request, although these obviously will not have the interactivity of the on-line work.
Our specialist staff are providing materials for HPE and The Arts, and we have been busy putting together some extras, with staff being videoing story time sessions for example.
So, as you can see we are working really hard and thinking of alternate ways to keep students not just learning but also connected. I am sure you will have many questions, however as you already know, this situation is evolving quickly and we will provide more information as we get closer to next term.
