PARENTING ACCEPTANCE AND COMMITMENT THERAPY
A research team at the University of Queensland is conducting a trial of a new online parenting support called PACT Online (Parenting Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
The PACT Online study is recruiting parents of children aged 0-10 years with any neurodevelopmental disability (e.g., autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder etc) or developmental delay. Importantly, all participants in the PACT Online trial will receive PACT Online, an online parenting support program, for free.
We have received some fantastic feedback from families who have already completed the program.
Quick Summary of PACT Online Participation:
- Free online parenting program for parents of children aged 0-10 years with a neurodevelopmental disability (e.g., autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder etc) or developmental delay
- 12-week online program consisting of one self-paced module per fortnight
- A 60-minute telehealth consultation (via Zoom) per fortnight one-on-one with a therapist
- Completion of assessment items at three time points – before program, after program and at a 6-month follow-up
The PACT Online Study has received ethics approval from The University of Queensland (023/HE000040).

They say:
Demand has grown enormously and we just can’t keep up with the need.
At the moment we have reached a point where we have almost nothing, except for pasta. And we are at a point where whatever we collect, each week, is insufficient to meet the need of the people coming.
We are hoping that we might be able to get some donations, so that we can collect some stock for the next few months. If you are able to help with any donations around long life products, that would be an enormous help.
We have plenty of pasta, but very little of anything else.
Tinned food (of all kinds) and breakfast foods (of any kind) are always in huge demand. But any other donations of long life food would also be a huge help.
Any donations can be dropped off Monday-Friday, between 8:30am and 4:30pm to 180 Jubilee Terrace Bardon.
Researchers from the University of Southern Queensland and The University of Queensland, are conducting research into parents’ opinions about parenting and climate change.
