Robotics and Coding
It has been an amazing second Term, with students learning about how burglar alarms can be networked via the internet. Years Three and Four coded animated quiz shows, and Years One and Two developed ice-cream shop webpages following rules to protect their personal details. The Preps used different commands to send robots across the Lab floor to meet their friends.
Extra-curricular activities
In extra-curricular activities fifteen students are continuing to develop “UN Sustainable Goal” computer apps, for the Premier’s Coding Challenge which closes at the end of Term 3. Vex Robotic teams are continuing to compete in a challenge to automatically locate items on a table using sonar and then move those items with robotic arms.
Rocket Launch
To wrap-up the term, there will be a Bluetooth rocket launch on the school oval to “Unleash Scientific Thinking through Play” as part of the 2025 Under 8’s Day, on Friday 27 June.
Have a safe and enjoyable winter break. To the 19 students having a birthday over the holiday, have a wonderful time and maybe take a moment to visit QLearn and find your birthday card on Outlook email.
Just a final reminder that robotics and coding is held in the Lab second break, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Students from Years 2-6 are all welcome in Term 3.
