Arts & Drama
Date claimer: QLD BRISBANE Region performances, Logan Entertainment Centre, 14th & 15th October 2020.
We’ve received the following information from Wakakirri and there is still some hope of students performing live at Logan! Shows will be a modified version of Wakakirri with reduced audiences designed to comply with social distancing guidelines.
- Wakakirri will take place approximately 9am to early evening each day (there will be NO traditional evening show starting at 7pm)
- Each school will get to two rehearsals then immediately perform their Story-Dance for the judges.
- It is our aim to have an audience to watch each rehearsal and performance. Here are the 3 possible scenarios;
- The audience is made up of other schools performing that day plus parents and friends spaced out to comply with social distancing measures
- The audience is made up only of other schools performing in Wakakirri that day spaced apart to comply with social distancing restrictions
- There is no audience, only judges because of social distancing restrictions
- Show results will be announced via email and a national TV special will announce the Story of The Year
Regardless of whether or not the live performance occurs, we have decided to go ahead with Wakakirri at ESS as an Arts enrichment activity. We hope to share the item at Arts on Stage later in the year should restrictions be lifted.
So hang on tight Wakakirri families, no further action is required regarding forms or fees until the status of the live event at Logan is confirmed on June 22nd.
