Class News - Year 1

Welcome to our final term of Year One. In English students will enjoy listening to Dreamtime stories and learning how to write a retell as their culminating writing task for the year. Our Science Unit will examine sources of light and sound and end with students creating a musical instrument.

Another exciting event for Term Four is the Fire Education visits by firefighters from our local station. The first visit will focus on fire safety in the home. To support understanding it would be wonderful if parents could have a conversation with your child about the safest route to take through your house in the event of a fire and assign a designated meeting point safely outside.

The second visit will show classes the fire truck, demonstrate some of the equipment and, if we are lucky, allow us to “have a go” of the fire hose!

Looking forward to this and all the other planned school activities after a busy year with lots of learning and progression.
