Year 2 News
It’s Week 4 of Term 2 already and after an unusual beginning to this term, we are counting down the days until all ESS students are back at school with their friends and teachers.
In Year 2 this term, the English tasks on Ed Studio have been set to practise and reinforce known literacy skills by investigating different text types and interesting characters. Fractured fairy tales have been a favourite with students because they show a different, and sometimes funny, perspective on traditional fairy tales. Many students expressed a personal preference for a text called, "The Wolf’s Story – What Really Happened To Little Red Riding Hood" because it was written with the wolf as the narrator professing his innocence. I am not sure that I would trust him myself, but you can find it on YouTube and decide for yourself. The students were asked to find similarities and differences between The Wolf’s Story and the traditional text Little Red Riding Hood to compare text types and characters. We hope they had fun!
Ms Gorey and Miss Currell have been having fun learning how to run iSee sessions to support the student’s online learning. The best part is seeing all of our students that we are missing so much. Thank you to the families for supporting your children to log on when possible and for bearing with us while we learn and teach at the same time.
