Class News

As you all know, this has been an interesting term; some might say challenging, others would say crazy. To us in 5A, we are split, half of us are quite relaxed and could happily continue, but the other half are really... I mean REALLY looking forward to the break.

Do you prefer schooling at home or at school?

I strongly prefer home because you can wear whatever you would like and you can also eat whenever you want. Also, with home schooling you can do whatever you would like whenever you like and you are allowed to do whatever subject you would like to do first and last.  But with school you can get the right amount of school work you need done and you can know what you have to do when you eventually come back. Also, with going to school you can see your friends again but, remember no hugging. Also, you can see your awesome teacher once again.

English

This term we have been learning about advertising for our English. We have been learning about how advertisements use different techniques to persuade their audience. For our assessment we made our own advertisement on a holiday destination (in Queensland) on PowerPoint. We also added audio to explain how we used language devices, language features, our voice and images to persuade the audience. We are quite proud of what we produced and are sure Tourism Queensland could learn a thing or two.

Research Tasks

This term we have been doing research tasks (investigation) for Math and English. For the English research task we have been researching cultural celebrations from a different country (not Australia). In Math we have been investigating if students mostly like nutritious breakfast cereals, and have presented our findings using an appropriate data display.

Friday sport

During Term Three the non-wakka kids will be doing Friday afternoon sport such as volleyball. Some of us will get to participate in the QLD Volleyball Cup, a competition against other schools in the Brisbane region. The kids there have so much fun and get to know each other. Shout out to Enoggera that we will win this!
