Principal's Pen
At the end of an intense term, I would like to thank staff and parents who have been supportive and understanding through the many changes that have occurred. We will hopefully have a far more settled Term 3 to look forward to!
Student drop off and pick up arrangements are working well, with the bonus that students have grown in their independence and ability to organise themselves to start the school day. Next term, our school finish time will revert to the usual 3pm for all students. Pick up options include the two Stop, Drop, Go areas, at the front of school and Laurel Street, both of which will be staffed to assist students to load safely into cars. Students can also wait independently to be picked up at the front or EPAC gate if this is your preferred option.
There are some other changes for next term. Assemblies will re-commence in week 2, however due to the requirements around social distancing, only parents of students who are receiving a weekly award will be able to attend and, at this stage, no class items are planned. Other events are still on hold, however, we will provide further information as soon as possible.
This week we celebrate Chaplain Week. Chaplains, or ‘Chappies’, provide spiritual and emotional support to school communities, provide a listening ear for students and support those who just need a friend. They also provide support for staff and parents where possible. Our Chappy Sarah celebrated Chaplain Week by giving to the school community, re-booting the morning breakfast program for our lucky students and setting some fun challenges. Today, students were invited to free dress as a hero, with some fabulous costumes on display.

Parents and Caregivers are invited to participate in this year’s School Opinion Survey and have a say about schooling during the COVID-19 lockdown. There is also the opportunity to provide feedback about our school more generally. Participation in the survey is anonymous and you are encouraged to take this opportunity to have your say. The survey form has been designed so that it can easily be completed on a computer or smartphone. The online survey will be available until Friday, 17 July 2020, and should take less than five minutes to complete.
