Principal's Pen
This week I was lucky to be able to visit our instrumental music classes, hearing fabulous performances from our students. I was amazed at the wonderful improvement evident; credit to the students and thank you to the parents who continue to provide support. The time put into practice is clear. Thanks to Mrs Moore for her tireless work with our instrumental students.

Last Friday our Year 5 and 6 students competed in the Volleyball Cup. We can be proud of the students who attended with positive reports of their behaviour and sportsmanship. Overall Enoggera placed 7th, ahead of many much larger schools. Our Year 5 Girls and Boys ‘Red’ teams were awarded Bronze medals. Thanks to Mrs Jardine for organising the teams and providing lunch time practice sessions and Mr Roxburgh, Mrs Kellin and Miss Green for attending the event and supporting our students over the day.
Congratulations Logan for his entry in the Premier’s Coding Challenge. We were treated to a short video produced by Logan about his game, which is focused on a cyber-safety message.
Our new computer lab and focus on digital technology is paying off!
Our Prep information session, held recently, was well attended. I have heard some discussion from prospective parents on whether to start Prep in 2021 or choose to repeat kindy due to the disruptions experienced in 2020. At Enoggera State School we believe there is no better way to show our children that we have faith in them and their abilities than to move into 2021 with confidence and high expectations. Beginning Prep in 2021 will be an exciting step for your Kindy child as he or she leaps into the excitement of school, under the care and guidance of our exceptional Prep teachers. The structure and care our teachers provide to all of our Preps as they begin their new adventure into formal education is always highly valued, but never more so than in 2021. If you have any reservations regarding your child’s readiness for school next year, please do not hesitate to contact us.
As we end Term 3, I wish all our students a relaxing and safe holiday. I will be on Long Service Leave for the first five and a bit weeks of Term 4. My replacement will be Eliza Borsht who I’m sure will enjoy her time at Enoggera.
