Class News
Welcome to another instalment of 5A news, written by and from the perspective of the students.
Book week
On Monday 19th October, our Book Week Parade was held. Students and teachers dressed up as their favourite book character and classes walked around the playground area showing off their cool, groovy, sunsafe outfits. Everyone made extraordinary costumes and had a huge amount of fun, the teachers also had some crazy costumes. Mr Chinn dressed up for the first time, coming as Robert O’Hara Burke. If there was a best costume prize, he would have won it.

STEM
Back in Term Three some students from Grade 4 to 6 got an extraordinary opportunity to go to EPSHS to build miniature rockets out of balsa wood. All those who attended this incredible interschool competition had heaps of fun and learnt heaps!
This term some students again will get to attend a robotics competition at EPSHS, where we will learn how to code Lego robots. We go every Thursday after school and we will end up competing in groups towards the end of our six weeks.

Health
This term we are learning about being safe. We have talked about risks, rules and laws and rights and responsibilities. We have also learned about the “3 Rs”; recognise; react; and report. It has been very interesting and we have had lots of discussions over the last few weeks.

Pre-service teacher
For the first three weeks of this term we have had Mr Smart join our class as a pre-service teacher. He has jumped straight in and taught us some lessons, including, English, Maths and Science. It has been a great experience for all of us. He has been very helpful and hopefully he has enjoyed being here as much as we enjoyed him here. We wish him the best of luck.
