World Teachers Day

Friday 30th October we recognise World Teachers’ Day. World Teachers’ Day allows us the opportunity to stop and thank all of our teachers for the important role they play in the lives of our students. Inside the classrooms and out in the community, particularly across 2020 due to COVID, teachers have done an enormous job keeping our school communities safe while maintaining a strong focus on teaching and learning.

We celebrated our wonderful teachers on Wednesday with a shared morning tea. I am sure our parents and student community will also show their appreciation this week.

Day for Daniel – Wear a SPLASH of red

On Friday 30th October, will we also be recognising Day for Daniel by wearing a splash of red. A gold coin donation from all those students who wear red will be collected and all funds will be forwarded directly to the Daniel Morecombe Foundation.

Cooperation with wet weather

A big thank you to our parents and carers for your co-operation during school pickups over the last few days with the wet weather. During these afternoons, getting children home to you safely in a quick and orderly manner is our priority. We appreciate you working with us at our pick up zones during the wet and all the traffic.

Arts on Stage and 150yr Video Consent Form

This week some communication was sent home regarding a Video Consent Form for two video projects:

  • Arts on Stage - Due to the continuing Covid restrictions, Arts on Stage will be presented internally to students and staff on Friday 20th November. This will be filmed and then shared with parents and the community via a secure platform TBC.
  • 150yr Anniversary Video - In preparation for Enoggera State Schools 150yr celebration, the P&C are working to put together a video that showcases the daily life of Enoggera students, the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities students have access to and all of the wonderful community and school events that celebrate and promote learning and a positive school culture.

One consent form needs to be filled out per child and returned to your class teacher by Tuesday 10th November. Additional paper copies can be collected from the office, or if you require a digital copy again, please feel free to email me ewilk66@eq.edu.au

School Improvement – Catering for diverse students

Over the next few weeks a group of staff will be attending some regionally run professional development around the delivery of the Australian Curriculum and meeting the needs of all students every day. Over the course of the year, Enoggera SS has been working on building staff capability to cater for a diverse set of needs within the classroom setting. These professional development days are in support of the work that has already begun and will help to deepen teacher understanding of the curriculum demands and development of unit plans. I look forward to working alongside these teachers across the professional development days.
