Welcome back to Term 3!

In English this term, we are studying the novel Kumiko and the Dragon. We are examining the Japanese culture through narrative writing and the use of camera angles in the illustrations. The students will be writing their own narrative text at the end of the term. So far all of the students have been thoroughly enjoying the unit and we will be continuing the theme through our visual art activities.

In Maths, we have been covering measurement and multiplication so far this term and will be investigating money, time and number patterns further this term.

In Science the students will be looking at how energy and heat are produced and transferred through different objects and materials. They will be investigating temperature through simple experiments and measuring the results using thermometers and recording their data in tables.

In HASS students are investigating how and why places are similar and different in our community. Some topics covered are: climate zones, mapping, interpreting rainfall data and world heritage sites.

For homework this term, the students will be continuing with their spelling words, reading and maths activities. They have also been given a Multiple Intelligences homework grid. Students can choose one activity each week to complete. Please complete and return homework each Thursday. Students will bring home their new homework on Fridays. Students will also be doing Library borrowing on a Thursday this term.
