150 Anniversary Family Fun Day – Thank You!

Thank you all for supporting the 150^th Anniversary Family Fun Day!  Everyone, past and present students had a wonderful time.  A current teacher summed it up well – ‘In these strange times of Covid, my heart felt so full to see our Big Little school bustling and full of fun and joy again’.  So many of us haven’t seen each other for a long time, so refreshing to see so many reunions and memories being created.  With over 120 past students and teachers attending the celebration shows Enoggera State School has left so many students with happy and treasured memories of their time at the school.  We are a very lucky school to have such talented and amazing students, teachers, families and school community!    

Commemorative Pins

A limited number of Commemorative Pins are available on QKR! App, under School Uniform Shop.  The pins are a great memory of the school’s 150^th Anniversary.  You will have a choice of a stick pin or a clasp backing.  They are $10 and can be picked up from the Uniform Shop on a Tuesday morning or picked up from the school office once ordered on QKR! App.

Uniform Shop

We are still seeking a Coordinator to take over the Uniform Shop in 2022.  We have had a couple of lovely parents volunteer to help out at the Uniform Shop but we need a Coordinator to mainly manage uniform stock; liaise with the Uniform supplier; and open the Uniform Shop on Tuesday morning for 45 mins.  The role will be supported by the Operations Manager and the current Coordinator, Amanda, will be available to transfer knowledge.   If you are interested and available to be a Uniform Shop Co-ordinator please contact the P & C via opsmanager@esspandc.com.au

String Instrumental parents please start to consider if your child requires a Music Shirt next year as they need to be ordered and take time to be made.  The Uniform Shop only has a small supply available.  If your child is current in the Beginner / Junior Ensemble they will require a Music Shirt next year.  Please visit the Uniform Shop if you will be requiring a shirt.

Mango Drive 2021

Brought back by huge demand the Mango Drive is back this year!  To support our North Queensland farmers purchase 4.5 tray(s) of Kensington Pride (Bowen Special) Mangoes by 31 October for delivery in early December.

From Friday, 15 October, you will be able to purchase the trays for $21 via QKR! App.  Order as many trays as you like. 

Due to a warmer winter than usual this year’s crop is resulting in a 60% - 70% reduction in the usual mango crop hence the smaller tray (4.5 kg) at a lower cost instead of the 7 kg tray sold last year.  The mangoes are coming directly from the farm to you.  Your mangoes aren’t being held for long periods in storage or ripening rooms.

Tuckshop

We are currently planning the Wednesday Specials menu so keep your eye on our Facebook page.

We are still seeking volunteers to assist in the Tuckshop for less than 3 hours on a Wednesday or Friday.  If you are looking to have some fun and meet other parents / grandparents the Tuck Inn is the place to be, it is a friendly environment!  Please contact the P & C via opsmanager@esspandc.com.au

Containers for Change

Continue to fill up those Containers for Change bins at school (purple bins) with suitable containers for recycling. To check if your containers are eligible, check the back of the container for the 10c symbol (lids must also be removed).  You can visit the depot deposit your containers and contribute to the ESS scheme, our school scheme ID is C10051863
