Year 4 Class News
Over Term Four we have maintained our strong learning focus on Reading and Spelling programs which are proving to be fantastic. The students continue to be involved three times a week in each area, together with their classroom teacher teaching the explicit strategies required to be a literate student. We are focussing on advertising in 4A and comparing in 4/5A as our unit work over the term.
We are continuing our Geography unit which looks at recycling and reusing to sustain our environment and mapping. In digital technology we use computers which gets us thinking digitally. We have enjoyed science where we designed paper planes using force, and investigated power through push and pull. We have some great pinball machines in 4A which have come into school and thank parents and carers profusely for their assistance.
Swimming training for the swimming carnival in week 9, on the Wednesday, has taken place and will hopefully be a welcome relief on a hot day. We have successfully performed for Arts on Stage and loved showcasing our talent. We will attend a STEM activity at the high school next Friday.
As we draw near to the end of the year we will be working hard to retain our focus whilst looking forward to the celebrations of Christmas. Report cards will be distributed in the last week of Term four.
