Deputy Principal Pen
As we near the end of the term, it is a great time to reflect on the wonderful experiences our children have had throughout the year both academically and personally. All students have achieved growth this year, and this should be recognised and celebrated! So, congratulations to all the students at Enoggera State School for the improvements that they have made this year, whether it be in the classroom, on the sports field or in their relationships with others. We encourage you to take a moment to ask your child to share with you what they are most proud of this year.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Swimming Carnivals
Next week, the students will participate in the school Swimming Carnivals.
Wednesday 1st December – Senior Swimming Carnival – Year 3 to 6 (9am – 3pm)
Thursday 2nd December – Junior Swimming Carnival – Prep to Year 2 (9:30am to 1:00pm)
Free Swim
During Week 10, classes will enjoy a 1 hour free swim session with their teacher and Mrs Jardine to celebrate the conclusion of swimming lessons and the end of the school year. Your child’s class teacher will communicate which day your child will need to bring their swimming gear to school.
Nudgee Beach Excursion – Prep
Monday 29th November (9am to 3pm) – Our prep students will enjoy a trip to Nudgee Beach Environmental Education Centre where they will become ‘Beach Explorers’ for the day using their senses to observe life in the tidal environment. This investigation reveals a pattern of little marine creatures being present at the beach demonstrating that “little things matter.” They will also come face to face with a live mud crab and find out its basic needs including what it eats.
STEM Day – Year 4
Year 4 Students will be attending Everton Park State High School on Friday 3rd December as part of their Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Celebration Day. The aims of the activity are to immerse students in activities that will require critical and creative problem solving and explore learning pathways in each of these areas. Students will leave Enoggera at 9:00am and walk to Everton Park with Mrs Kerr, Mrs Wilcox and Mrs O’Malley. Students will return by 3:00p
Roll Up Afternoon
On Wednesday 8th December from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, students will be invited to visit their classroom for 2022. During the afternoon, they will get to meet their new class teacher and their new classmates. If they have a new teacher for 2022, one of our support staff or departing teachers will fill in for the new teacher. The incoming teacher will be invited to send a short video or PowerPoint or video to introduce themselves and students will complete some activities to get to know their new teacher and classmates.
Year 6 Graduation
Thursday 9th December at 9:30am – Year 6 students will attend their final ESS assembly to celebrate their graduation from Primary School. Students will receive special awards and their graduation certificates in a special 90 minute assembly in the EPAC. Year 4 and 5 students and teachers will also be attending this assembly to farewell our Year 6 cohort. Graduation morning tea will be served for Year 6 students and their families after the ceremony. We look forward to seeing you there.
Break Up Day
Thursday 9th December is BREAK UP DAY! To celebrate, the P&C organise Pizza for all classes across the school. Parents can purchase Pizza for their children for $5 through the QKR App. Year 6 do not have to pay for pizza as they have a credit from an event that did not go ahead earlier in the year. Class Teachers will provide details about any other organisation for their class parties and activities for Break Up Day.
Clean Up Day
Friday 10th December is Clean Up Day.
