Hello from Grade One 

This term for English we are learning about poetry. Our focus has been growing our skills to perform a poem in front of an audience. To be successful we have been practicing how to use volume, tone, gestures, and expression to enhance our performances. The students have also been learning to identify the features of poetry and how poets use these features to convey meaning. 

Grade One have been eagerly incorporating ICT into their English learning by using Book Creator to create a digital learning portfolio of their poetry learning. The students have uploaded copies of their poems and feedback from their peers. The have acted upon feedback by creating audio recordings reflecting what they are working on as well as video recording their own performances for self-reflection.
