Strings News
In string news, eleven students from Grades 5 and 6 were invited to participate in the Ferny Grove Cluster's Advanced Music Camp. They spent four days playing in tutorials and rehearsals with Mr. Gwyn Roberts and students from many schools in our local cluster, and participating in choir and zumba! We finished the week with a big concert on Thursday night. It was a wonderful success, and all the Grade 5 students who participated are really looking forward to doing it again next year. Congratulations, AMC participants!
Year 2- Instrumental Music Recruitment 2023
Starting early next term the Year 2s will be commencing the process for finding out the next String program recruits for 2023.
The process includes undergoing a aural listening test during Classroom Music, an Expression of Interest feedback form, consultation and feedback from the classroom teacher and inspection of Semester 1 Classroom and Music results.
If there are any questions please forward these to Ms Hopper mxhop2@eq.edu.au or Mrs Harle (Strings teacher) mehar0@eq.edu.au
The Year 2s have been completing a unit about Instruments of the Orchestra in Term 2 so are familiar with the Instruments available in the Strings program.
It may be beneficial to have a conversation at home about if your child has an interest in playing Violin, Viola or Cello and also the commitment learning an instrument takes.
Please note there are always limited places available, often less than demand so places unfortunately cannot always be offered to everyone who is interested.
