What an amazing job everyone has done to fundraise for our up-coming Colour Run to be held this Friday. Thank you; this is a great result as funds raised will contribute towards covering the multi-purpose court. In readiness for Friday, each class has picked a team name, with the RunBelievables from Year 2A winning the competition for the best name and earning a treat each from the tuckshop. Unfortunately due to current restrictions, parents are unable to attend the event and we have strict protocols and a COVID plan in place to ensure safety on the day. Students are bound to have a fabulous time and we can’t wait to share some photos in the next newsletter!
This term we have begun a new project, with teaching staff involved in collegial lesson planning and modelling. Our support teachers and classroom teachers are sharing their wealth of combined knowledge to develop new ways of differentiating for the needs of all students.
Thank you to all parents who responded to a call out in the last newsletter to enrol their children for Prep in 2021. Keep those enrolments coming in. If you will be leaving us in 2021, can you also let us know as soon as possible to assist us for class planning for next year

Prep 2020
In Prep this term we have been listening to the imaginative story 'Have you Ever Seen a Sneep?' by Tasha Pym. The story uses rhyme and we have been creating fantasy characters similar to the ones found in the book. We gave our fantasy characters funny names like 'Flip from Blip' and 'Spot from Trot'. We are doing really well at listening for rhyming words and we are even starting to make some of our own rhymes!
The highlight of our first two weeks back at school was our 100 days of school celebration. We made crowns, danced to music, blew bubbles and celebrated being 100 days smarter!

Arts Enrichment Program
How fantastic that our former Wakakirri team are still able to pursue a storydance through an Arts Enrichment Program on Friday afternoons. Around 87 students gather (and spread out) in EPAC to develop the story dance. Some students play the role of backstage while others are polishing their performance skills on stage. We are in very early stages of development but the work is shaping up well. We cannot believe that this time last year our Waka team were on stage at the Logan Entertainment Centre!
Later in the year, we hope to present the story dance at Arts on Stage, however, this may be subject to Covid restrictions. We do hope that our Arts Enrichment Program truly ‘enriches’ students in the development of confidence, skills and knowledge about self and the Arts.

We are pleased to provide the following dates for your diaries for our upcoming events. We are monitoring all official information in relation to COVID-safe gatherings and will be ensuring all necessary health and safety guidelines are followed when we host these events.
Friday 7 August - Crazy Colour Day Fun Run
Wednesday 2 September - Father's Day Stall and Week 8 Sushi Day at The Tuck Inn
Friday 11 September - Trivia Night, The Grange Bowls Club (further details will be distributed soon)
Of course, if for any reason these events need to be postponed, we will communicate via our Facebook page and via email.
Crazy Colour Day Fun Run
We are so excited that our Crazy Colour Day Fun Run is taking place this Friday after having to postpone it earlier in the year. Thank you to all of our students and families for your support of this event to date. We have raised over $16,000 already which will be a tremendous boost for our Building Fund.
It’s not too late for students to register for an online fundraising profile for the run, if they don’t already have one. You can do that via the Fun Run website at https://www.schoolfunrun.com.au/ but of course all students are welcome to participate in the day regardless of their fundraising tally or whether they have a profile established.
If you’d like any further information about the ESS Crazy Colour Day Fun Run, please take a look at our event flyer or contact the P&C via our details below. We wish everybody a super fun and safe run on Friday afternoon.
Containers for Change
Our purple bins are now back at school so please help us fill these bins up with suitable containers for recycling. To check if your containers are eligible, check the back of the container for the 10c symbol (lids must also be removed).
If you wish to visit the depot and deposit your own containers and contribute to the ESS scheme, our school scheme ID is C10051863.
Uniform Shop – Seeking Instrumental Music Shirt Donations
If you have an instrumental music shirt at home that your child no longer fits or uses, please consider donating that to the Uniform Shop for on-sale to other families. We receive quite a few requests for second hand instrumental music shirts so if you do have one that can be donated, please have your child drop it off to the Uniform Shop on a Tuesday morning from 8.15am.
ESS Building Fund
A friendly reminder that tax deductible donations can be made to the ESS Building Fund at any time throughout the year via this link. http://www.givenow.com.au/enoggerassbuildingfund
Our Building Fund exists to support essential maintenance to existing school buildings as well as to fund new construction. Our current primary fundraising objective is to be able to build a roof over our ESS multi purpose court so our students can use the court all year round, in any weather. We greatly appreciate all donations, big and small to support this initiative.
