Dear Parent and Caregivers,
FEED YOUR FAVOURITE FELLA
Thank you to all who supported and helped out at the ‘Feed Your Favourite Fella’ morning in support of Chaplaincy last week. It was great to see so many students bring a significant ‘fella’ in their lives to school for the breakfast and to play some games. A big thank you to Chappy Sarah and the Local Chaplaincy Committee for all of the organisation that went into the activity.
Today we have another special day in support of Chaplaincy and that is the ‘Heroes of COVID” dress up day. I have noticed that we have lots of emergency services workers at school today so we are in safe hands. Thank you everyone for the way our school community embraces and values the Chaplaincy program. We are very blessed to have such an active and talented Chaplain as Chappy Sarah in our school.

PREP ENROLMENT
We had excellent attendance at both of our open mornings over the last 2 weeks. Admin staff are currently undertaking the Prep enrolment interviews for 2022.
Following the enrolment process then in Term 4 we will hold transition mornings on November 5th and November 19th and information sessions which will focus specifically on preparing the child for Prep and also providing all of the necessary information about the Prep program to the parents. If you have any questions about the Prep enrolment process for 2022 please call the Administration office.
If you have missed the enrolment meetings thus far please phone the administration office for an enrolment pack and to book an interview before the transition mornings, so that your child can participate in the mornings.
STAFFING
Next term our permanent School’s Officer, Colin Callaghan will return to his positions three days per week for the first 6 weeks of the term and Mr Goff will continue on for Thursday and Friday each week for the first 6 weeks of term. Teacher Aide, Mrs Sue Hunt will also return to her position three days per week also. After the holidays Mrs McKenzie will be on Long Service Leave for the first two weeks of the term. She will be replaced for part of the week by Mrs Belinda Lott who has recently been backfilling behind Mrs Stone, whilst she was on Long Service Leave.
HOLIDAYS
This Friday we commence the Spring vacation and we will return to school on Tuesday October 5th after the long weekend. We wish all of our Enoggera families and staff a very happy holiday and hope that if you are travelling on our states roads you take care and enjoy some happy family time together. We look forward to seeing our lovely students and staff back refreshed and ready for the final term of the year, as Term 4 is always action packed with events and activities to round off the year.
Happy Holidays!
Till next time,
Mrs Anne Robinson
It is hard to believe that I have already been at Enoggera State School for over four weeks! I am working hard to learn student names each day and am making some progress! I am looking forward to the holiday enjoying time with my children and visiting family and friends. I wish all the staff, students and families of our school community a relaxing spring holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back next term.
Year 6 Camp
This morning, the Year 6 students along with Mr Roxburgh, Mr Woodrick, Mrs Wilcox and Mrs O’Malley, headed off to the Apex Camp at Mudjimba Beach. The students will be participating in a range of activities that will challenge them including rock climbing and paddle boarding! I know that they are all taking along their Growth Mindset and have been encouraged to have a go at all challenges that are presented to them over the three days of camp. Mrs Burrows is visiting on Wednesday and Mrs Robinson is visiting camp on Thursday. There will be updates on our school Facebook page over the coming days. The students are due back at school on Friday afternoon by 3pm. What a great way to end Term Three and a special thanks to the staff for making this experience possible for the students.
Year 5 Camp
Next term, the Year 5s will also be going on camp to the Luther Heights Youth Camp at Coolum Beach. They will be attending from Wednesday 6th October to Friday 8th October. Students will need to be super organised to be ready to go to camp just one day after returning to school from the holidays. Remember to ensure that you have returned all notes and made payments before the holidays.

Prep A 2021
In Prep this term we have been listening to the imaginative, rhyming story ‘Have You Ever Seen a Sneep?’ by Tasha Pym. We have created fantasy characters similar to the ones found in the book. We gave our fantasy characters funny names like ‘Flip from Blip’ and ‘Spot from Trot’. We have done so well at listening for rhyming words and making some of our own rhymes!
In Visual Arts this term we have learnt about colour and we created some amazing warm and cool-coloured artwork!

The highlight of our first two weeks back at school was our 100 days of school celebration. We made crowns, danced to music, blew bubbles and celebrated being 100 days smarter!

Prep B
In English this term we have read stories that have got lots of rhyming words in them. We have continued to implement the Jolly Phonics Program this term, looking at alternative spelling words. This term we celebrated being in Prep for 100 Days. Well done students and parents!
In Maths we have been learning number names, numerals and quantities up to 20. The Science unit we have looked and explored the weather in our local environment. In HASS we have looked at features of a place and creating maps of local places.
We have learnt a lot this term and we look forward to learning more in Term 4.
Wearing our 100 Days Crown
Prep/1
Prep/1s have spent this term retelling traditional stories through words and images. Our writing and reading are improving with practice. In Maths we have explored data, length, time, money and capacity. During Science we have studied weather and features of the day/night sky and landscape.

Hello Defence families,
My name is Emma Ryan and I have been appointed the new Defence School Mentor for Enoggera State School (ESS). As a parent and ADF spouse I am familiar with the unique lifestyle Defence families may be presented with and believe strongly in the benefits the program plays in facilitating a supportive educational environment for Defence students and their families during times of change.
Last week I had a great time meeting the Defence kids of ESS, and received some great feedback on what activities they would like for term 4. There is a competition to personalise the Defence Kids Club at Enoggera State School with a new name and logo. It will be drawn at the start of term 4, I encourage all defence children to submit their ideas and make the club their own.
The program will be run Wednesdays and Fridays, with Defence Kids Club at 2nd break on Wednesdays for prep to grade 2, and Fridays for grade 3 to 6.

It’s our final week of Term 3 with a few activities still to run.

Ultimate Frisbee
Students from years 3-6 have been learning to play Ultimate Frisbee this term. Our final sessions are this week with the guys from Ultimate Queensland. Throwing and catching a frisbee might seem like a fairly simple skill but when you add attempting to control where its going and playing in teams it has been a little challenging. Not to mention the different styles of throwing.

For anyone interested in continuing with Ultimate – there are lots of clubs around look one up.
